For those of you who are active Twitter users, I encourage you to read the article, if only to satisfy your jeer quota for the day. I’m not even going to get into how barf-tastic this article was (“tweethearts,” “twilebrities”). This article is just an embarrassment to proponents who understand and utilize the power of social media for good. As Caroline McCarthy of CNET says,
“Twitter has proven to have legitimate value as a business and marketing vehicle, and its power users — including the women pictured and quoted in the article — are capable of a lot more than cutesy soundbites about “engagement” and catty jabs…”
Well said, Caroline. Now if Twitter could only figure out how to make money…
