Trazzler for Travelers

Trazzler

I recently joined an online travel community called Trazzler, a collection of user-submitted write-ups of trips and destinations around the world.  The style is geared toward travelers, not tourists — the places and activities, along with the writing style, are meant to inspire, not dictate.

A sample trip might be “Admiring a Mayan Goddess Along the Sea in Cozumel, Mexico” or “Oogling Great Works of Art in the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.”  Don’t expect to find any Top Ten Restaurants or Best Sightseeing lists here.  What sets Trazzler apart from the others is the individualism of each trip.

All users are invited to submit reviews of places they’ve experienced, and a select few are featured by the editors.  The site occasionally hires freelancers from its users, and every so often, it hosts writing contests to win trips.  Right now users can enter the Hawaii Writing Contest for a trip for two to Hawaii, a $6,000 writing contract and trip for one to Hawaii, or one of several freelancing contracts.  Just submit your trip based on the theme “island.”

The best part about Trazzler is that all the writing remains yours, so you are free to republish it on your blog or wherever.  I’ve got lots of fun trips to talk about, so look for some of my work on the site soon — and please “add it to your wishlist” if you like it!

    Hey Nancy,

Thanks for linking to my Cozumel trip. Love this blog, too. Thanks for mentioning Trazzler on it and I look forward to reading your trips. I tweet from Trazzler’s various accounts, so I’ll take note of your @twitter name and will give you shout-outs when I can!

    Cheers,
    Cheri
