The Writer’s Voice: What Is It?
Dianne Jacobs is a former writer and editor and current writing coach. Her specialization is in food, and she has helped a number of food writers in getting book deals, including local chef Akasha Richmond. Her blog, Will Write for Food, offers thoughtful advice and provoking questions about food writing. I particularly like this post on writing style — check out the six writing tips she talks about at the end.

The Airfare Watchdog Blog
Having Airfare Watchdog on your Twitter feed can be slightly dangerous. Every time one of their tweets pops up, each one advertising a new jaw-dropping deal, you can’t help but stop what you’re doing to check it out. They are hawks when it comes to finding out deals both domestic and international. Today’s best L.A. deals? RT LAX to Madrid: $593 on British Airways. RT LAX to Boston: $209 on JetBlue.

#Food – Find LA Food Trucks
Find LA Food Trucks
It’s not exactly a Twitter account, but more of a brilliant amalgamation of all of the Twitter accounts of the 2.0 generation of LA Food Trucks. It’s got all the main ones, from Kogi to Green Truck to CoolHaus and then some. There is also a place to submit new trucks as they enter the market at record pace. Until someone invents the GPS/real-time map of food trucks, this is as about as comprehensive as you’re going to get.
